Day1

Bentota - Kitulgala - Ella

You will be picked up from Bentota and we head to Kitulgala which is towards the central highlands. It is an area with tropical rainforests, winding rivers and an undulating terrain.
Kitulgala which is a hotspot for white water rafting and kayaking. You will make your first stop to do some rafting.
After a thrilling ride on the Kelaniya River and a well-deserved delicious lunch, the journey by road continues to Ella.
Ella, which literally translates into ‘waterfall’ is a name fit for this little town located in a hilly nook, owing to its stunning vistas richly adorned with cascades that trickle down its rugged terrains.
Overnight at hotel in Ella.

Day2

Ella - Yala

In the morning, visit Mini Adam’s Peak, a must-visit for those who enjoy trekking expeditions. A walk up the hill that falls across a lustrous tea estate will open up the most striking panoramas complete with azure skies that rise above the emerald plains below.
Resume journey to Yala passing the beautiful sceneries of the hill country.
Once you arrive in Yala the day is at leisure to relax from the long journey.
Overnight stay at a hotel in Yala.

Day3

Yala

After an early breakfast, proceed to Yala National Park.
It is Safari time!
You will witness elephants, crocodiles, deer and amazing birds. Depending on the timing and luck you may get a glimpse of a leopard or a bear too.
We recommend two game drives – early morning and at dusk when the animals come out to the water bodies. Yala National Park, with a total protected area of 126,768 hectares, consists of scrub plains, lagoons and rocky sections and offers the broadest cross-section of the country’s flora and fauna.
In terms of game-viewing this is probably the best place to see the ‘big three’ – elephant, leopard and water buffalo.
Return to hotel in Yala for an overnight stay.

Day4

Udawalawe - Sinharaja

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel and resume your journey to Sinharaja Rainforest, Deniyaya. Sinharaja Rainforest is a UNESCO-protected World Heritage Site, an International Biosphere Reserve, and a biological treasure trove, which provides diverse habitats for numerous species of endemic fauna and flora not found anywhere else in the world. The reserve covers an area of about 11,000 hectares of lowland rainforest and is a valuable storehouse of scientific knowledge. Overnight stay at an eco-lodge within close proximity to the rainforest.

Day5

Udawalawe

After delicious breakfast at the hotel proceed to Udawalawe.
The adventure continues to the south-eastern corner of Sri Lanka. Udawalawe National Park, a dry zone area famous for its wide open savannah-like plains.
Visit the Elephant Transit Camp at Udawalawe, run by Sri Lanka’s Wildlife Department. Here, young elephants, mostly jumbos, who have been orphaned or recovering from injuries, are being rehabilitated before being released into the wild.
Early evening set out on a jeep safari into the Udawalawe National Park. According to Wildlife reports there are about 500 elephants in the park and they often roam in herds of up to 100.
The riches within the park do not end there; flocks of sambar deer, wild buffaloes, bandicoots, foxes, water-monitor lizards, crocodiles, sloth bears, the occasional leopards and a wealth of reptiles and birds can also be observed in their natural habitats.
Overnight stay at hotel in Udawalawe.

Day6

Day7

Sinharaja

Set out on a trek through Sinharaja Rain Forest, which is the last surviving stretch of virgin rainforest on the island. It is truly a rewarding experience!!
Located at the heart of the island’s wet-zone, it is the last standing rainforest within Sri Lanka. Midst the thick evergreens that stretch over 18900 acres reside some of the rarest wildlife treasures of this paradise isle. Upon entering the forest, its visitors become one with nature, embracing the serenity of the lush surroundings.
Return to the eco-lodge for another overnight stay.

Day8

Sinharaja - Galle - Bentota

After 6 days of adventure, you will be transferred to Bentota for a well-deserved break.
En-route, stop in Galle for a city tour. Located in the Southern province, the city of Galle is a living time capsule. Home to the largest occupied Fort in Asia, its quaint beauty extends beyond its golden beaches and cerulean waters.
The main attraction of Galle no doubt is its ancient Fort, which instantaneously takes the visitors back to the Dutch Colonial era. One can bask in the picturesque views and the rich history while walking through the narrow, cobbled streets, relish a meal from one of the interesting restaurants within the Fort or enjoy the cool sea-breeze beneath the landmark lighthouse.
