Wild elephants of Sri Lanka…‘The gentle giants’ which accounts to approximately 5,800 could be spotted ambling about and not to forget the most extensive concentration of leopards in the world. Spot them at our most famous National Parks, along with sloth bears, buffalo and many more interesting wildlife.

Head South to Galle, a haven for colonial beauty with Dutch architecture, vintage jewellery shops, artisan ice cream parlours and a stunning view of the sunset from the Dutch Fort. Experience Bawa’s architecture that gifted a new architectural character and aesthetic for this tropical island. Visit the cultural triangle and witness the remarkable historical sites such as the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the Temple of the Tooth Relic or if you prefer you could leisurely visit a quiet temple in a small village where you could receive blessings from the chief monk at the temple.

Whilst journeying through the island, include a visit to the dense, dark and mysterious Sinharaja forest, an ideal site for scientific exploration if you’re an expert. Amidst the thick evergreens that stretch over thousands of acres reside some of the rarest wildlife treasures of this paradise isle. Upon entering the forest, its visitors embrace the vibrant nature and foliage of the rain forest. Sinharaja’s resident as well as migrant birds is a unique wildlife spectacle and hence popular amongst bird watchers who visit to observe the feathered creatures in their natural habitats. The villages located close to the rain forest make an interesting experience as they produce some of the best honey and treacle in the island.
